February 3rd is National Golden Retriever Day in the United States. It so happens that we have Golden Retrievers–one that’s “real” and one that’s honorary. Why honorary? Because she came to us through a Golden Retriever rescue group. With that history she will be forever linked to Golden Retrievers, although she’s more Lab, Terrier, and Rabbit.
Our Golden chose our second dog. I introduced him to several adoptable rescue dogs, and this is the one he picked. The match was immediate, obvious to all who witnessed it, and lasting. Their bond is strong, and very cute to watch.
A gentle, loyal boy and a spirited girl… this match works. And we are most grateful to have them. They enrich our lives tremendously.
