In the city

This image was taken at a traffic light. The city had the flowers planted on the median. Three quick clicks, and the light turned green.

Cities have lots of places of surprising beauty, but we’re often in such a hurry, or so focused on the next task, that we don’t notice them. Sometimes they require a very close look, as in this instance:

Lichen on a tree branch — not exactly spectacular. And yet, quite pretty when we take a closer look. These are the things I love. Unassuming, quiet, so prevalent that we don’t pay attention to them. They are just… there. Part of our world, but often invisible to us.

And so worth it paying attention to!
